Selia Hits 100K Virtual Therapies, Eyes $2M Revenue in 2023

With a focus on mental health, their growth includes 350+ specialists and global reach, expecting to double revenue in 2024.

Selia, a Colombian platform that started as a virtual clinic offering a variety of medical services in late 2020, has shifted its focus to specialize in psychology, psychiatry, coaching, and nutrition due to high demand. The company announced that it is set to close 2023 with a revenue exceeding US$2 million from its virtual therapy services. Currently facilitating an average of 6,000 consultations per month, Selia has reached an impressive milestone of over 100,000 virtual therapies.

The platform caters to individual patients and corporate clients who integrate these mental health services into their employee wellness programs. With a network of over 350 certified specialists and technology that helps patients efficiently find their ideal specialist—reportedly achieving a 90% success rate on first attempts—Selia’s scalability is evident with consultations recorded in over 30 countries worldwide.

Santiago de Bedout, CEO and co-founder of Selia, emphasizes the role of technology in democratizing access to mental health care, noting that geographic barriers are becoming obsolete, especially as corporations rapidly adopt these virtual therapy packages. Currently, Selia has over 50 active agreements with companies providing therapy sessions to their employees, a growing business segment for the platform.

Looking forward, Selia aims to double its revenue in 2024 and continue expanding its certified specialist base. The platform offers therapy sessions starting at COP$80,000, with various packages for 4, 8, and 12 sessions, making mental health care more accessible and scalable across geographical boundaries.
